JUNGIAN THEORY
Jung’s theory of the shadow: the parts of yourself you suppress don’t disappear. They run your behavior from the unconscious. Controversial in academic circles, powerful in practice.
PHILOSOPHY
Not “suppress your feelings.” Feel everything — then choose your response. The 6-second pause is trainable. Your amygdala hijack lasts ~6 seconds. Pause through it.
RELATIONSHIP SCIENCE
Criticism, Contempt, Defensiveness, Stonewalling. Stonewalling — going silent — is the #1 predictor of relationship failure. Not anger. Not fighting. Silence.
DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCH
Your attachment style was formed before you were five. Avoidant attachment — a pattern many men carry without knowing — is learned. It can be unlearned.
